  1. I live in Texas now but grew up on Coventry, Conn. I love New England especially in August when its 100 degrees here. If I had to give up all my magazines but one it would be Yankee I kept. When it arrives there is nothing done all afternoon till I have read it. I cry a bit thinking of times gone by. Like the time when I was about 15 and climbed to the top of Mt Washington with our pastor and his daughter. We were so ignorant of what we needed and how to get to the top and back down again thru Tuckerman Ravine. I grew up on a chicken farm and went to one room schools til we got bussed to high school in Manchester. Life was hard but the perks were also good. I hope Yankee magazine goes on and on another 80 years although as I think on it I am older than Yankee by 5 years.

All the best to you and your staff and Yankee magazine
