Trestle Through Covered Bridge

As I was shooting the covered bridge from which this photo was taken, I noticed this abandoned trestle reflecting on the river. I framed it through the lattice of the covered bridge to give a sense of watching through a window, the trestle, looking forgotten behind the leaves of the trees around it, solemnly gazing upon itself in the water. I’m struck by the contrast of this heavy, steel structure against the delicate, glassy water.

View through a diamond-shaped window showing a metal truss bridge over a calm river lined with greenery. The bridge and surrounding foliage are reflected in the water.
