Delivered Daily: The Latest in Travel, Food, and Living in New England
If, like me, you love daydreaming about your future grand New England summer beach house, Menemsha cottage has an inspiring classic-meets-modern seaside vibe. A custom, partial post and beam design from Grantham, New Hampshire-based Yankee Barn Homes, the 3,110-square foot Menemsha was inspired by the coastal cottages of Martha’s Vineyard, so it looks like a New England property, even if it was built in New York. I’ve shared some of my favorite scenes from the property below, but there’s even more of Menemsha to discover here. Happy coastal dreaming!
The low-style dormers on Menemsha’s second floor enhance the cottage’s small-scale effect, and for an authentic-looking exterior, the shingles were treated with bleaching oil, then left to weather to a pale gray.
