Sure, it’s easy enough to pick up a batch of delicious doughnuts from a bakery, but there’s just something satisfying about creating the tasty baked good from scratch — smelling the delightful aroma, biting into a doughnut while it’s still warm, and sharing what you’ve made with friends and family. Doughnuts come in all flavors and varieties, from plain to glazed to dripping with chocolate frosting. Below are some of our favorite doughnut recipes, including classic New England flavors such as the Vermont apple cider doughnut and the Maine potato doughnut.

Old-Fashioned Cake Doughnuts
