october 1947 brings back early childhood memories. october 1981 reflection &anticipation.october 1993 represents where i now live. However, October 1982 is a true snapshot of Octobers days…
Tough decision which one is my ‘favorite’ but my choice is Oct 1985 *would also make a great puzzle*. I also LIKED Oct 1997 and Oct 1939
Fall is my favorite time of the year. The cover I love the best is 1981 – brings back many memories. I also like 1972 and 2001 and 2002. Was a hard choise for sure.
So many great ones! But if I really have to be picky—- 1939 and 1972.
My favorite cover is 1985
These cover photoes brought me through my childhood to adult years and married with children years..they evoked lots of memories..so some are more memorable than others.
I like them all but the first one on my list would be 1939 not because it is my birth year… I just like its plain message of broadcasting that it is the fall season, one of the most beautiful of seasons of the year, spring being the other…
tough choice as many good ones, but i woulfd choose 1983.
They are all good but I especially remember the Oct 1983 cover as being the first cover I received after signing up for a Yankee magazine subscription.
I like them all but 2002 got to me!…
It reminds me of how much we hate closing up our summer place in Maine.
1997…cows….brings back so many good memories for this old cowgirl!
October 1963 and October 1993
1985 is my favorite. The colors are wonderful!
1989 – before the captions wrote over the beauty of those covers! I began a subscription back in the 80’s because of those covers…and the center-folds….panoramic views of NE beauty. It’s a shame the mag has taken 2nd. place to the advertisements.
I like 1981, 1993, and 2002. I was reading these magazines when I was a teenager. My Mother had subscribed to them. I loved curling up on the sofa on a rainy day and read the magazines.
My favorite October cover is 1963, we lived in Leominster, Mass. and it was a time of Camelot. Oh how things changed a few weeks later in November that year.
Yeah, thanks for the cover, That is my favorite.
That ’63 cover is classic because these stands still exist. I stopped at one yesterday in Bath, NY, and filled the back seat with pumpkins and beautiful gourds (2 for $1) and the last of the local tomatoes and bell peppers. Also, I read the word Leominster in another comment and it brought back the autumn I spent as a First Lt. at Fort Devens (circa 1959) finishing my active duty time. It was in the Leominister area that I first discovered pumpkin ice cream. What a revelation! I was hooked.
I love the 1995 cover, simple but classic, and so New England. The 2002 cover is also very appealing, and very inviting!
