This old barn was part of a family farm dating back to the mid-19th century. Narrowly rescued from development, the property, including two farmhouses, barns, and waterfront cottages, is now part of a 900 acre open space preserve, managed by the Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) as part of the Otis State Forest. The buildings quietly await their fate, as no funds exist to secure their preservation.
