Maine photographer Winky Lewis captured two Maine islands for our day trips travel feature.  The following photographs are from her explorations of the small and accessible Peaks Island.  For Winky, the islands of Maine are each so unique and beautiful.  Peaks is just a short ferry ride from her home in Portland, but feels so far from home; the perfect day trip and summer island escape. Winky makes her home in Portland, Maine with her family, who provide much of the inspiration for her personal work.   A book of this work curated by Jock Sturges will be published by Galerie Vevais in 2013.  To see more of Winky’s photographs, please visit her website.  http://winkylewisphoto.com [slideshow post_id=”384862″]
