The clues:
First: New England-made soapstone woodstoves are the Cadillacs of the industry, for example, the HearthStone Phoenix, made in Morrisville, Vermont. Centuries ago, the colonists would slip hot soapstones into their beds to stay toasty.
Second: Generations of New Englanders have been soothed (and some say healed) by steaming bowls of chicken soup.
