Mark Synnott (born December 11, 1969). This Jackson, New Hampshire–based climber and journalist notched a New York Times best-seller with the tale of his friend Honnold’s world-famous feat, The Impossible Climb, out in paperback this March. Next up is a book about Synnott’s own 2019 Everest ascent, a challenge for which there’s no better training ground, he has said, than the peak in his backyard: Mount Washington, “Home of the World’s Worst Weather.”
