A solitary leaf rests along a pathway after a snowstorm in our largest downtown park.
Maine
Portland has a marvelous 3 mile walking path that runs around the Back Cove. I just happen to be lucky enough to live within walking distance. The views constantly change and wildlife abounds. Now is the season for migrating birds to make their temporary homes in the cove.

First To Go
I moved to Maine in September 2010. This is the very first picture I ever took the the early weeks of moving to New England. There was only one tree on this lake that had prematurely turned red for the foliage. They, one by one, were slowly falling off and floating away across the lake.
Walk To Me
These are the fields where my yurt is located…I woke up before sunrise and was able to catch the early morning light.
Yurt Life
It has been one year now since I moved into a yurt in Maine. Since growing up in Florida I was searching for a more challenging but interesting way of life. I now live with no running water or electricity and heat the yurt in the winter with a wood stove.
Fields And A Rose
Across the fields where I live, a neighbor has gifted me a rose from her greenhouse. Walking back across the fields to the yurt I was able to capture it in the afternoon light.
Be Here Now
Hiking the the back woods of Maine on a foggy, dreary, misty day. These days are the best because you almost never see another sole….you have the whole wilderness all to yourself.
250th Anniversary
The City of Hallowell celebrated its 250th Anniversary in 2012. I was proud to be part of this celebration and proud of the city that welcomed me with open arms so many years ago. Living here is truly an honor, it’s sense of community is unsurpassed. The city has heart and it certainly captured mine.
