Amazing to find this shot of the oldest public library in Maine in the smallest City in Maine, Hallowell. A wonderful place to escape to even on a Maine Winter afternoon.

A full moon was masked by a passing storm cloud at the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. The moon creates some dramatic rays as its hidden, which I love to attempt to capture. The Nubble Lighthouse was also being lit during the annual Christmas in July celebration in York.

Chrsitmas in July is celebrated in York by lighting the lighthouse with christmas lights. A full moon was being hidden by a passing storm cloud that was backlit by that moon. And the same storm cloud produced some off-shore lightning that struck during the exposure.

A passing storm system created some dramatic weather conditions that I felt gave a good perspective of why the Nubble Lighthouse exists.

A Maine island boy races to his hometown dock to catch the 6:20 am boat to an away baseball game, the first of the sports season. In the process he flies by traps ready to be set, for the start of the lobster fishing season.

Winter brings special peace and tranquility to Maine as fishermen store gear and summer folk close up homes. Beauty is at its zenith in Maine’s “fourth season”, yet relatively few ever see it.
