Where is peak color? Yankee editor Mel Allen has the answer! It’s time to take your fall foray through New England. Watch the colors change on the Peak Color Map for best times to visit in September and October. DRIVES: This drive goes through all six New England states. Start Yankee‘s suggested drive in the Oxford Hills of Maine, cross over into New Hampshire’s White Mountains, then into northwestern Vermont, head south into the “hill towns” of Massachusetts, then into the “Quiet Corner” of northeastern Connecticut, and end up in Rhode Island, where you’ll find everything autumn, except the mountains. MORE DRIVES: Can’t take such a long trip? Explore just one of the states or find more scenic drives. FAMILY FUN: Get lost in a corn maze. Here’s a list for every state. PHOTOS: View the slide shows of autumn images and Halloween decorations submitted by website visitors. ADVICE: Get it straight from the road in the New England Foliage Blog. 1. Fall is my favorite season. I like having four seasons. It keeps me looking forward to the next as each season slowly comes to a close.

  2. We are planning a 7 day trip to New England, flying in to Boston. What route would you recommend for that amount of time? Any recommendations for hotels, Inns etc. would be nice too.

  3. Dear all, I’m trying to get some “real” inputs on going to New England to see the foliage, in late October (I’ll have the flight to Boston on the weekend of 21st 2016) .. is it worth going there at that time, or is it too late to see some colours, and so better to stay in Boston or to see the coast ? Many thanks!
