This week, the much-beloved Old Farmer’s Almanac released their winter weather predictions for the upcoming 2016/2017 season. After 225 years of predicting, the Almanac maintains an astoundingly high accuracy rate of 80 percent, and with that kind of success, we’re apt to take their advice—or, in the case of this winter, heed their warnings!

Winter 2016/2017

The Almanac predicts that we’ll see temperatures colder than last year’s relatively mild winter, but that overall, temperatures will be above normal. As for snow, a large part of southern New England can expect more than usual, while the northern parts of the region should see only normal amounts.
