It also goes without saying that, when driving in moose country, you should keep your eyes peeled for all wild animals crossing the road and obey the speed limit. Moose collisions are rare (on average, 436 crashes in Maine each year involve moose, with only one resulting in death), but still dangerous, with most moose collisions occurring at dusk in the late spring or early summer. Grwat photos. We live in southern NH and have a couple moose that live on our mountain. It’s always awesome to see them. We had a young bull in our yard last fall. Can’t get any better than that!
While on a fishing trip to Tim Pond, in Maine ( near Eustis ) we turned off the paved road onto a dirt road, which was a ten mile, old logging rd, which led to the lodge. On the way we saw one or two moose, quite a sight. First and only time, and that was 23 years ago. The Tim Pond experience was exceptional and seeing the moose capped it off. Looked for them on the way out, heading home, but no luck. Also no luck with the fishing rod. These pictures brought back some great memories. Thanks, Yankee.
