TEA CUPS Great for a cottage chic look, and if the pieces are mismatched and chipped it just adds to the charm! RUBBER BOOTS/COWBOY BOOTS Have a pair of boots that have seen better days? Don’t discard them-use them as planters instead. These look great when planted with trailing plants or plants with height and placed near doorsteps or on a porch. SEASHELLS Larger conch shells are perfect for bigger plants, yet the smaller snail shells are well suited for tiny air plants. MASON JARS So sweet when used as vase for wildflowers. If used for potted plants, be sure to allow the soil to dry completely before adding any water. VINTAGE TOYS A weathered child’s wagon, metal dump truck bed, boat, and colorful beach pails are just a few fun options for plant pots which evoke warm memories of childhood. TINS Cookie, cracker, spice, baking powder, and tea tins make especially appealing planters when displayed in kitchen areas. COCONUT SHELL A carefully cracked and opened coconut becomes a biodegradable planting option. If the coconut is merely drilled to empty the milk, the holes can be used as a vase or flower frog planter with a tropical feel. BASKETS When lined with natural fiber plant pot liners, baskets of all shapes and sizes can be converted into planters. WEATHERED BIRDHOUSE Remove the top of an old birdhouse, add potting soil and fill with flowers to create a charming planter. BIRDBATH A birdbath of any size makes a great planter when filled with succulents. Do you have an item re-purposed into a planter? If so, we want to see it!
