White Christmas Cookies

Sure to please at this time of year.

Yield

Depends on what size shapes are used

Ingredients

1-1/4 cups shortening, part butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract
6 cups flour

Instructions

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, add well-beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture alternately with sour cream. Add flavoring; roll out 1/8-thick and cut into different shapes. Bake 10 minutes in 425 degree oven. When cool, ice and decorate with colored candies.
