If meat loaf ever becomes a “company” dish, this is the one that will make it.
1 pound ground chuck
1/2 pound ground veal
1/2 pound ground pork
1 medium onion, grated
1 egg, beaten
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon ginger
Combine all ingredients, but lightly. Shape into a loaf and bake in a 9x5x2 3/4-inch pan at 350 degrees for 1-1/4 hours.
