S & S Apple Crisp

This is a light cake-like crisp and is equally good made with blueberries.

Ingredients

6 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Peal, core and slice the apples. Place in an 8×8- inch baking dish and toss with the cinnamon.

In a bowl mix the butter, sugar, flour and oats. Spread this mixture over the apples. Bake for 45 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream.

  1. This recipe turned out very well for me, except it wasn’t as cake-like as I would’ve liked. The author mentioned it was cake-like. To me, it’s like a more normal apple crisp. I am going to work on making one that is much more cake-like, still having some crunch, but more of a body to it to compete with the apples.
