Praline Cookies

Yield

Makes 3 dozen.

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
* 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
* 1 egg
* 1-1/2 cups sifted flour
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Beat together butter and sugar; add egg and beat well. Stir in flour, vanilla, and nuts. Chill the dough for 1 hour. Roll dough into balls and place 3 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Moisten the bottom of a drinking glass and use it to flatten the balls. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 8 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove immediately and cool on wire racks.
