Heat oven to 425deg
Grease baking sheet
1/2 cup sesame seeds
3 tbsp grated orange peel
3 cups flour
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup shortening (not sure about this amount!)
1 cup orange juice
3 tbsp sugar
(set aside 1 tbsp seeds and 1 tbsp oj and rind)
Combine flour, seeds, rind, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening.
Add juice to dry ingredients. Mix on lightly floured surface – knead 5/6 times
shape into a 7″ roun
cut into 4 wedges – 1″ apart on baking sheet
pierce with fork – sprinkle with seed.
bake 15 to 18 minutes
make bringing remaining juice to a boil and then add rind. Brush scones with glaze while still warm.
