Yield

Makes 4 dozen.

Ingredients

8 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 to 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
Oil for frying

Instructions
