1 flank steak, about 1 lb.
Marinade:
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soya sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tb vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tb chopped onion
1Tb grated ginger root or 1 tsp powdered ginger
Score one side of the steak by making shallow cuts in a criss-cross design. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the meat. Cover and refrigerate for 1-3 days or leave at room temperature for 3-4 hours. Broil or barbeque about 4-5 minutes each side ( medium-rare). Slice in thin strips across the grain
