Maple Walnut Pie

A Churchill House variation of pecan pie. Use Grade B maple syrup for the best flavor and color. –The Churchill House Inn, Brandon, Vermont

Yield:

Serves 8-10

Ingredients

4 eggs, well beaten
2/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup strong maple syrup
1/2 cup butter, melted
9-inch pie shell, unbaked
3/4 cup walnuts
1 cup whipping cream

Instructions

Combine beaten eggs, sugar, salt, and maple syrup. Add melted butter and blend completely. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Cover top with walnuts and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until tester comes out clean. Top with whipped cream.
