Hamburger Bake

10 servings if served with a salad

Ingredients

Filling:
1 lb lean ground beef
3/4 c chopped onions
1 can (10 ozs) condensed Cheddar cheese soup
1 c frozen vegetables (like peas and carrots, corn, etc.)
1/4 c milk
Crust:
1/2 c butter (1 stick)
3/4 c milk
1 3/4 c flour
2 1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
Topping:
1 c shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven til 400 degrees.
Spray 13 x 9 pan with Pam.
Crumble raw hamburger into a large frying pan. Add chopped onions. Fry over medium heat till hamburger is nicely browned.
Drain. Add condensed soup, frozen vegetables and 1/4 milk to hamburger and onions. Stir well. Set aside.
Heat 1/2 c butter and 3/4 c milk for 1 minute in microwave. Let cool.
Measure flour out and put half of it in mixing bowl. Sprinkle baking powder and salt over the top. Add rest of flour stir till combined.
Add butter and milk mixture and mix till well moistened.
Spoon dough into bottom of the cake pan in an even layer.
Spread hamburger mixture on top as evenly as possible.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
