Granola from the Palmer Inn, Noank, Connecticut

Yield

Makes about 15 cups

Ingredients

8 cups rolled oats (not instant)
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1-1/2 cups untoasted wheat germ
1-1/2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts or unsalted cashews)
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1-1/2 cups unprocessed oat bran
1/2 cup un toasted sesame seeds
1/2 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1/2 cup vegetable or safflower oil
3/4 cup honey
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups raisins

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Stir together the oats, sugar, wheat germ, nuts, coconut, bran, and seeds. In a small pan heat the oil, honey, and vanilla until bubbling. Thoroughly mix liquids with dry ingredients. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Stir until cool. Add raisins when cool.
