Grandma Jerry’s Vegatable Beef Soup

My grandmother taught me to make this soup, it was the first thing she taught me to make. It’s for your children when there sick, she always said. Now that she’s gone, I use it for comfort food especially when I think of her….

Yield

Enough to feed a large family

Ingredients

3 lbs. beef stew meat
1 head of cabbage
2 cans green beans
2 cans corn
2 cans sweet peas
1 bunch carrots chopped
6 potatos peeled and cut into bite size pieces
1 can of tomato juice
1 gallon beef stock made with beef base

Instructions

I use my turkey cooker to make this soup. Cook beef, beef stock, chopped cabbage,and tomato juice until cabbage starts to get tender. Add carrots, corn, peas, green beans, and potatos. Let cook until all veg. are tender enough to eat….ENJOY
