Golden Breadcrumb Cookies

Ingredients
1 egg beaten lightly
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups toasted breadbrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped fine
1-1/2 cups sifted flour
Instructions
Mix the egg, sugar, shortening, and vanilla together. Then add the salt, breadcrumbs, milk, water, cherries and flour, little by little. Mix well, and drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.
