Fudgey Chocolate Brownies

Makes 16 brownies.

Ingredients

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
4-1/2 tablespoons butter
9 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

Place oven rack in lower third of oven. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour an 8×8-inch pan. Mix flour and baking powder. Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in cocoa and sugars, and cool. Add eggs and vanilla to saucepan mix, then add flour, stirring until smooth. Pour into pan and bake for 15 minutes. (Toothpick inserted will not come out clean.)
