French Butter Cream Frosting

Ingredients

2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup cold milk
1/2# cold unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla or rum extract

Instructions

sugar, flour and salt in saucepan – min and stir in milk until smooth, Medium heat and cook until very thick – stir constantly
Remove from heat – room temperature. Take butter from fridge – beat in 1 tbsp at a time…add in extract. takes 8 to 10 minutes. Spread this stiff, fluffy frosting on cake – covers three layers.
