1/4 cup dried minced onion
1/4 cup dried parsley
1/2 cup dried red lentils
1/2 cup dried split peas
1/4 cup barley
Into a 1-pint canning jar, layer ingredients in the order given. Attach a tag with cooking instructions:
Brown ground beef or chopped chicken.
Add any veggies you like, such as carrots or celery, and cook until softened.
Stir in dry mix and cook 1 minute.
Add 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth and 2 cups water.
Bring to a boil; then lower to a simmer. Enjoy!
