Butter Cookies

Contains no egg and melts in your mouth.

Yield

3 dozen

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Oleo
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon orange juice
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter, Oleo, sugar and vanilla.

Mix together orange juice and baking soda and add to creamed mixture.

Add flour, salt and cream of tartar.

Roll into small balls. Flatten with glass bottom, dipped in sugar.

Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden brown.

  1. Best butter/sugar cookie I’ve ever eaten. I have to make an extra batch because my daughter eats the raw dough.

  2. The texture and flavor are excellent. Since rolled cookies are not my forte, this recipe is perfect for me. Making this again for for Valentine’s day.
