Yield

16 servings

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup sour cream
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh blueberries

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Combine all ingredients except the berries and mix well. Fold in berries. Pour into a greased and floured tube/bundt pan. Sprinkle a layer of sugar on top. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for another 40 to 50 minutes. Instead of blueberries, try substituting 2 cups fresh cranberries and 1/2 cup walnuts.

  1. This is one of the best, and not hard to make breads. I make it often for family reunions and gatherings. Everyone loves it, good also toasted with butter. Always a hit.

  2. I lost an old recipe from your magazine, where a lady remembered her mom making BB Bread for every occasion. Is this that old recipe? It seems that baking up to 80 minutes seems excessive, is that an error?
