Food
Bobby’s Blueberry Bread
Yield
16 servings
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup sour cream
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh blueberries
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Combine all ingredients except the berries and mix well. Fold in berries. Pour into a greased and floured tube/bundt pan. Sprinkle a layer of sugar on top. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for another 40 to 50 minutes. Instead of blueberries, try substituting 2 cups fresh cranberries and 1/2 cup walnuts.

This is one of the best, and not hard to make breads. I make it often for family reunions and gatherings. Everyone loves it, good also toasted with butter. Always a hit.
I lost an old recipe from your magazine, where a lady remembered her mom making BB Bread for every occasion. Is this that old recipe? It seems that baking up to 80 minutes seems excessive, is that an error?

HI Dori,
This recipe came from an inn cookbook that Yankee put out years ago, so I don’t think this is the recipe you’re looking for. You can find our most popular recipe for blueberry bread here: http://www.yankeemagazine.com/recipe/blueberry-quick-bread
