Bisquick Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients

Bisquick Butterscotch Brownies

2 cups Bisquick ™ baking mix
2-1/3 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
4 large eggs
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 (3.5 ounce) can coconut
1-1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix all ingredients and bake in a
9×13-inch pan for 45 minutes.
Cool on rack, cut while warm.

    One doesn’t like to be critical, but is it reasonable to publish a recipe for Bisquick Butterscotch bars when there are no Butterscotch bits included in the recipe?

  2. Hi Lenny. This recipe was submitted by a reader into our database and has not been tested by Yankee. Having said that, I suspect the combination of brown sugar and butter (or margarine) in the recipe is where the “butterscotch” comes from, since those its two main ingredients! If you want more butterscotch flavor, I’m sure you can add in some of the bits you mentioned. Thanks!
