Banana Nut Bread

Family favorite, grandmother makes for us when visiting.

Yield

loaf

Ingredients

1 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c buttermilk
3 or 4 mashed bananas
2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c pecans

Instructions

Cream first 4 ingredients: beat until fluffy. Add buttermilk and bananas.
In a small bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt.
Add to banana mixture.
Stir in pecans.

pour into 9X5 loaf pan
bake at 350 degrees 45-50 minutes.

Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Serve with butter or cream cheese or a big glass of milk!!!Mmmmm!
