I have had this recipe for several years and not sure where I got it but it is one of our favorites any time of the year.
Ingredients
2 Cups Granulated Sugar
1 Stick of Butter or Margarine
1/2 Cup of Milk
1/3 Cup of Baking Cocoa
3 Cups of uncooked Oatmeal
waxed paper
Instructions
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients except the oatmeal. Bring to a boil stirring frequently. Boil for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and add oatmeal. Stir to blend. Let stand about 5 minutes and then drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool and set up.
Store thorougly cooled cookies in a tightly sealed container (if you don’t eat them all first).
Peanut Butter or coconut can be added to the basic recipe for variety.

These were the second favorite cookie at our Christmas Eve gathering.
I added 2 tbsp. of all-natural peanut butter to boiling mixture, and used steel-cut oats. They were very chewy and very good!
I also added natural creamy peanut-butter and only used 1•1/3 cup sugar (instead of 2 cups). I also split the bitter baking cocoa with Special Dark baking cocoa for a richer taste. > DonnaLouise
