The old mill town has experienced a revival with new businesses including Schilling Beer Co. seen from the river in the three story converted red gristmill.

10 hours a day Main St. is bumper to bumper with big trucks, loud motorcycles & cars with high powered stereos. Not so tranquil as this picture paints it, The traffic lights are at either end of Main so pedestrians risk life & limb using the crosswalks in front of distracted drivers. Every year some are hit. Chutter’s candy should be in the Guiness book for high prices. $30. a lb. for their chocolate turtles or about $5 each.
I lived in Central NJ before moving here in July of 2015 and I can vouch for the fact that downtown Littleton is probably the safest towns for pedestrians I’ve ever been in! I’ve never seen or heard the traffic nightmares you described. This little town is awesome and I couldn’t be prouder to call it home.
This is not true. The summer months are busy for certain and residents avoid downtown during the noontime and early afternoon. I should know as I pick up my mail at the postoffice.
“Every year pedestrians are not hit”! It has happened only one year in the 38 years I have lived here!Chutters may be expensive, but so are the candy stores in MA!!
We love Littleton! We’re retired full-time RVers and will be spending our summers (June – September) at the Crazy Horse RV Park. There are so many things to love and enjoy in town and all the surrounding areas — farmers’ markets, yoga classes and the people are so friendly — even Pollyanna – ish!
