Bring your party hats for this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 401). Amy is in Chinatown, Boston for a very special birthday bash, hosted by chef and restaurateur Joanne Chang, co-owner of Flour Bakery + Cafe and Myers & Chang restaurant. In this segment, Amy explores Chinatown and makes Joanne’s mom’s famous pork and chive dumplings, a favorite at her restaurant. Once the dumplings are ready, Amy sits down with the family to enjoy a lovely meal in celebration of Joanne’s father, but the real treat is getting to know Joanne, her family, and her culture through her food.
