It’s no secret that farming is back-breaking work. However, the allure of the Rhode Island farm-coast calls to people all the same. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 401), Richard is in Tiverton, Rhode Island to talk to farmers old and new. In this segment, we meet Kelli and Mike Roberts, new-generation farmers dedicated to organic, sustainable farming at their farm Roots and Bill Hathaway, a generational farmer who has spent his whole life tilling the soil on the farm coast, just like his father. While on opposite ends of the spectrum, they share a mutual respect and unending love for the Rhode Island farm coast.
