With its famously unpredictable weather, reaching the summit of Mount Washington can sometimes be a dangerous pursuit, but the rewards are stunning. In this season one segment from “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 108), Richard shows an alternative way to reach the top via the Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing railway of its kind. The cog runs two trains seasonally; one powered by coal and the other by diesel fuel. Join Richard on his journey to the top, all the while learning about the remarkable history of “the Cog.”
