Head to The Balsams in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire for a Cross Country Ski Feast

I spent a quick getaway at The Balsams in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, about six years ago and it was a lovely vacation, complete with outdoor adventure (ice skating, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing) and scrumptious food–two things I thoroughly enjoy. That’s why The Great North Woods 30K Classic cross country race, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, is getting my two ski poles up award. In addition to the 30K race, participants can opt for 5k, 10k and 30k courses for novice, intermediate and expert skiers. Plus, food stations will be placed along the course with chefs from The Balsams tending to the gourmet treats. Cross country skiing burns so many calories, you need to refuel your body.
