I am really surprised the Latchis in Brattleboro has not made either list. It has been beautifully restored in the last couple of years, and always has an interesting mix of films. The town of Brattleboro is lovely and has a real vibe of all the best culturally interesting areas in New England, such as Harvard Square in Cambrdige, MA, and Portsmouth NH. The theater also hosts live performance and educational events.
The Latchis Hotel is also a wonderful place to stay.

The Strand Theater in Clinton, MA could find a spot on any of these lists. Classic movie theater with food and drinks (kids and grown-up drinks).
