Jake Wyman makes his home in southern Connecticut and has worked as a professional photographer for over 30 years. The following slideshow represents a small selection from an ongoing personal project to photograph Maine’s Acadia National Park in winter during and after major storms.
Acadia is one of the most visited National Parks in North America. Most of the traffic the park sees is during the summer months, although the beauty and solitude of winter in the park is magical. During those long winter months, Cadillac Mountain sees the first sunrise in the United States. The road to the summit is closed to cars during this season, but on a number of occasions, Jake hired a snowmobile and driver to take him to the top of the mountain to capture that perfect shot. Please enjoy this collection of some of our favorite images of Acadia National Park in winter.
