Some appetizers are a toothpick above the rest — popular year-round and easy to prepare. Marinated mozzarella balls fall into this category, and will be a surefire hit at your next party or gathering.
The pre-packaged balls of mozzarella, containers of cherry tomatoes, and parsley for garnish are easy to grab at the supermarket (look for the mozzarella with the imported cheeses) and/or farmers market. The other ingredients — olive oil, garlic powder, and red chili flakes — are already in most pantries, so tossing everything together is a snap.
After a few hours, or overnight, transfer the marinated mozzarella and tomatoes to a clean bowl and set out with toothpicks, or arrange them on a platter for even easier sampling.
