This photo was of an old metal swing rusted and forgotten then for the 4th of July it was given a new look. I found this at a local gift shop.

This photo represents traditional styles of homes in and around Stonington, CT this sea faring town has plenty of history to enjoy.

Although our town has many fine architectural structures, this railroad bridge, in its setting, is a beautiful icon.

Setting up the shade cloth for the shade tobacco fields is very labor-intensive. Hundreds of people are employed for thiss purpose in Windsor, Connecticut.

Tobacco sheds and fields of tobacco covered by cloth cooomprise hundreds of acres of “shade tobacco” is Windsor, Connecticut, the oldest town in the state (1633).

This is the cloth that covers hundreds of acres of growing shade tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) in my howmtown, oldest in Connecticut (1633).

I live in Southeastern CT and went to Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT to see Anchorman on the big screen, outside! I should have checked to see if it was rained out first… Oh well, I made the best of it, explored the park and found this water fountain that made me feel like I was still in Southeastern, CT with the Native American rich heritage. The sky couldn’t have been any better, thanks for raining out the movie, this never would have happened without it.

Sailfest 2012 was an experience to never forget. The day started with an adventurous 1.5 mile walk from my apartment to the beach (adventurous because I don’t walk more than 5 feet without complaining, much less in the hot hot summer sun by myself). Well, I finally arrived on my spot on the beach that I claimed as my own while I waited for the ships to come in. Two hours after the original start time, moments before I was about to walk home, I saw a small sail boat round the corner into the Thames River. Could it be? Were more behind them? YES! There were! Camera ON! This one is the Coast Guard Eagle, one of the many awesome ships to come through that hot summer Connecticut day.

My mom’s favorite place, period. Any day of the week this is where you can find her. Something about the the sound of the waves crashing into the rocks below is such a soothing sound, I understand why she loves it. In this photo you see both my parents at Eastern Point Beach in Groton, CT and you see Ledge Light Lighthouse in the distance overlooking Long Island Sound.
