Dogs aren’t man’s only best friend. In this Season 6 segment of Weekends with Yankee (Episode 605), we travel to Lyme, New Hampshire, to meet Ben Kilham of the Kilham Bear Center, a rehabilitation center for black bears. Originally, Ben was a wildlife rehabilitator, but he fell in love with black bears when local wildlife conservators gave him cubs in need. Since then, Ben has worked as a scientist studying bear social behavior to learn how to best rehabilitate abandoned cubs or injured bears. He hopes his findings will educate the general population so that future generations will come to understand bears, not fear them.
