If there’s anything to learn from this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 411), it’s to always be “plugging.” Amy travels to Brookline, Massachusetts, to meet John Hodgman, a career man of all sorts. John is an author, actor, and comedian born and raised in Brookline. He shows Amy his stomping grounds, starting in the Brookline Booksmith. A comforting old bookstore, the Booksmith is complete with creaky floors and a carefully curated collection (including John’s book). Then, they venture across the street to the Coolidge Theater, John’s previous place of employment where he makes Amy a mean bag of popcorn.
