From sheep to shelf, these blankets are made by meticulous hands and exquisite craftsmanship. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 407), we are in Camden, Maine, to visit the Swans Island Company, which produces handwoven blankets and textiles. Using fleece sourced from family-owned farms, the wool is cleaned, spun, dyed, woven, and adorned all by hand. The end result is a luxury comfort item, woven with the rustic feel of New England to provide warmth for generations to come.
