Everybody loves an underdog, especially one that prospers. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 407), Amy is in Barnard, Vermont to meet with Deidre Heekin and Caleb Barber, the owners of La Garagista, a vineyard producing excellent wine. They use a hearty, hybrid grape that grows amidst the harsh winter climate and is completely natural and equally delicious to the native grapes of Italy. After a tour of the winery, Amy helps Caleb in the kitchen to create a tasty meal out of locally sourced ingredients. Their meal is fully Vermont, with great food complimented by great wine.
