In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 404), Richard travels to Portland, Maine, to visit Cross Jewelers, known for their exquisite tourmaline jewelry. Maine tourmaline is specifically known for its clarity, brilliance, and sparkle. In this segment, Richard aids in the construction of a beautiful tourmaline necklace. Starting in a quarry, he picks the gem out of the mud, shapes it, and watches as it is set into a dazzling pendant, transforming into a stunning piece of jewelry.
