Beyond building lasting tables, this community event is about building lasting connections. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 404), Amy meets with Charles Shackleton, co-founder of the Naked Table Project in Woodstock, Vermont. The townspeople of Woodstock gather to make tables out of locally sourced, sustainably cut trees while raising money for nonprofits. In this segment, Amy learns about the construction process of the tables and joins the community supper served upon them. Charles hopes that his tables will continue to serve for centuries to come, giving more people the chance to connect over them.
